Statement of Faith 1. The Holy Scriptures We believe the Scriptures, (39 canonical books of the Old Testament and 27 canonical books of the New Testament), to be the plenary, inspired of God, inerrant, revealing the will of God concerning us in all things necessary to our salvation, so that whatever is not contained therein is not to be enjoined as an article of faith. 2. Triune God We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existing and revealed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin, Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins in fulfillment of the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where interceding at the right hand of the Majesty on High, he is now our High Priest and Advocate. 4. Holy Spirit We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, cleanse and empower the believer. 5. The True Church We believe that the True Church is composed of all, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united in the Body of Christ. We recognize Jesus Christ as the Lord and Head of the Church. 6. Sin Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. We believe that sin is of two kinds; original and personal. 7. Salvation We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy spirit and thus become the Children of God. 8. Baptism We believe that Christian baptism, commanded by our Lord, is an ordinance signifying our acceptance of the atonement of Jesus Christ, and is declarative of our faith in Him as personal Savior. 9. Lords Supper We believe in the ordinance of the Lords Supper. We partake in the Lords Supper in remembrance of the new covenant in His blood in reverent appreciation for Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, so that all who believe may have salvation. It is the communion celebration for those who confess faith in Christ. 10. Mans Free Agency We believe that man was created in the image of God. Because of original sin, man became so depraved that he cannot turn and prepare himself by his own natural strength, nor by words to salvation. We believe that Gods grace, through His Son Jesus Christ, is given to all who will turn from sin to righteousness, believe on Jesus Christ for cleansing from sin, and live the life that is pleasing and acceptable in his sight. 11. Second Coming of Christ We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again; that we who are alive at His coming shall not precede them that are asleep in Christ Jesus; but that, if we are in Him, we shall be caught up with the risen saints to meet the Lord in the air, so that we shall ever be with the Lord. 12. Resurrection of the Dead We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
