The City of Northwood has two parks. Campbell Park located on the south end of the community is 20 acres and provides for a full range of passive and active recreational pursuits.

It has an outdoor heated swimming pool, an outdoor winter ice-skating rink, 54 picnic tables, 2 large shelters, 9 swings, 3 slides, 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, 1 baseball diamond with a grandstand and 2 other diamonds. The City created a self-guided tree identification walking tour through the park in 2000.

The Northwood Golf Course is owned by the Park District and is a public facility with fun for everyone. It is a  nine-hole golf course, which is 5,460 yards in length. The Goose River runs through the course. The Golf Course is used by all ages. The Northwood Public School uses the course for golf. Hatton School district is under our banner for a shared golf program. It is a ND High School Athletic Association sanctioned program. Northwood and Thompson use the course for cross-country running. It provides summer jobs for all ages from youth to senior citizens.  The course is used for sledding in the winter. Many tournaments are scheduled throughout the summer.

Centennial Memorial Park, a once acre park is located downtown. It has 2 small shelters and 1 large shelter.
